Christina Rossetti generally prefered to write romantic and children poems such as
Remember. She published her first poem in 1848 when she was 18 years old. Her most famous poem was
Goblin Market which appeared in 1831. With the death of Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Rossetti became more known.
Goblin Market was though to have been inspired from where she worked, a house of charity for former prostitutes and Rossetti's ideas of 'fallen women' possibly helped her put together
Goblin Market.
